Engineering students (undergraduate or graduate) in the ASEE Midwest Section and other ASEE sections are encouraged to prepare a poster for this regional conference. The student posters division is a new activity and provides a venue to showcase student work. Some of the topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
· Student Senior/Capstone Design Projects
· Student Design Competition Projects, such as Steel Bridge, Concrete Canoe, Formula SAE, Solar Car, and Robotics.
· Student Outreach Projects, e.g. Engineers Without Boarders
· Student Research Projects
· Papers in other categories will be considered
Each accepted poster and associated short paper should address Technical Accomplishments and Design Lessons Learned. The associated papers will be included in the proceedings.
The first author(s) and presenters must be undergraduate or graduate students (a faculty member may be a secondary author). The poster process is:

The deadline for full draft poster abstract submission is July 27, 2012. Abstracts of 250-500 words should be submitted by E-mail to the Student Posters Chair

· Notification of acceptance will be August 3, 2012
· Final poster (8.5 in. by 11 in. pdf ), copyright form, and associated two-page paper by
August 15th, 2012.
Accepted posters (full size) must be brought to the conference for the scheduled poster session on Thursday September 20, 2012. Posters must fit in a 45 in x 45 in area and must have the title and authors names prominently at the top. Push pins will be provided.
The associated two-page paper summary of the poster must be formatted using the Author’s Kit and the 8.5 in. by 11 in. pdf of the poster and the two-page overview will be included in the conference proceedings.
One author must register at the student rate or above for the poster and the paper to be included in the conference and in the proceedings, respectively.
STUDENT UAV EVENT

Co-sponsored by IEEE Aerospace and Electronic Systems Society
UAV student teams in the ASEE Midwest Section and other ASEE sections that are affiliated with the IEEE Aerospace and Electronic Systems Society have been invited to prepare a poster for a co-located UAV Student Program. The UAV Student Event will be at the end of the ASEE Midwest Section Conference and the poster session and UAV demonstration are open to all conference attendees. Posters will be considered in a UAV Student Posters Competition.
The first author(s) and presenters must be undergraduate or graduate students (a faculty member may be a secondary author). The poster process is:

The UAV Student Poster Competition will evaluate the poster and overview according to the following criteria.
Form
Presentation: 20 points
Title, authors, and institution on both the poster and overview
Compliance with formatting (for overview see Author’s Kit)
Style, Spelling, Choice of Words, Use of Photographs, etc.
Achievement of Purpose for Poster: 20 points
Achievement of Purpose for Overview: 10 points
Technical
UAV Design Approach: 20 points
Risk Assessment: 20 points
Spectrum Management
Failure Modes, etc.
Creativity, Accuracy, Completeness, etc.: 10 points
